School board adopts new rules restricting most cellphone use

The Nash County Board of Education took action Monday on defining “instructional time” in response to a new state law restricting the use of wireless communication devices in the state’s K-12 public schools.

The new state law puts limits on how students use wireless devices during instructional time.

School systems across the state are tightening cellphone rules to comply with the new state law aimed at restricting their use in classrooms.
