Rebuild Community Trust: Refocus Public Education on Academic Mastery and Common Sense!

National polling indicates public satisfaction with K-12 education has plummeted to an all-time low of 32%, driven by concerns over declining academic standards and grade inflation. While parents often rate their local teachers reasonably well, confidence in the public school system as an institution is collapsing due to administrative distractions from core academics. Fiscally conscious school board members must recognize that loss of public trust leads directly to declining student enrollment and shrinking taxpayer support. To reverse this trend, local boards must refocus district priorities strictly on math, reading, science, and transparent governance. Restoring academic rigor and eliminating soft grading policies will demonstrate to the community that public education is worthy of their hard-earned dollars.
