As common-sense fiscal stewards, we must ensure that our district leaders are chosen based on proven educational management expertise rather than popular political campaigns. Transitioning a superintendent to an elected office risks injecting partisan politics and polarized national agendas directly into the day-to-day administration of our schools. An appointed superintendent answers directly to an elected board that represents the taxpayers, creating a clear and stable chain of accountability. When leadership positions become political battlegrounds, the primary focus often shifts away from core academics and fiscal discipline. Maintaining an appointed model protects our schools from unnecessary administrative instability and election-cycle disruptions. Ultimately, keeping the superintendent role professional ensures that taxpayer dollars are managed by experienced educators dedicated strictly to student achievement.
