“It came to our attention that employees of Ector County ISD had posted social media comments that do not reflect the values or expectations placed upon educators in our school district,” the district said in a statement Monday. “Certainly, employees have the right to express their personal opinions and participate in public discourse on their own time, however, we expect staff members to refrain from vile and hateful comments about others or comments that advocate, endorse or glorify violence.
“Such content is unacceptable, could constitute a violation of the Educators Code of Ethics and school district policy, and will not be tolerated.”
Neither the identities of the employees nor the specifics of their comments were shared.
