CCS board votes to move forward with $50 million budget cuts; recommendations to be made in November

The Columbus City Schools Board of Education voted to move forward with making $50 million in budget cuts on Tuesday evening.

The board voted unanimously to pass the resolution.

"This is an incredibly difficult decision,” said Michael Cole, president of the CCS Board of Education.

According to the Ohio Education Association, public schools across the state face $2 billion in cuts over the next two years, forcing school boards to make difficult decisions about which programs and services to maintain.
