California allows more girls into track championships following success of trans athlete

After the success of Jurupa Valley High School’s AB Hernández in the long jump and triple jump this season, and a strongly worded message from President Trump on Truth Social, the CIF announced the following “pilot program” according to KTVU:

“[A]ny biological female student-athlete who would have earned the next qualifying mark for one of their Section’s automatic qualifying entries in the CIF State meet, and did not achieve the CIF State at-large mark in the finals at their Section meet, was extended an opportunity to participate in the 2025 CIF State Track and Field Championships.”

The CIF said it “believes” the program “achieves the participation opportunities” for student athletes.
