A federal court has ruled that a Pennsylvania first-grade teacher violated parents’ rights by teaching students about transgender identity during a lesson for Transgender Awareness Day.
The ruling, issued by Judge Joy Flowers Conti, determined that Megan Williams, a teacher at Jefferson Elementary School, broke the law by reading books not part of the school’s curriculum and discussing transgender topics with her students. The lawsuit, filed by parents with religious and moral objections to transgender ideology, argued that the instruction conflicted with their beliefs.
